Todd’s career in high-consequence engineering began with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), where he specialized in environmental control, life-support HVAC, and thermal management systems for nuclear-powered submarines. Under zero-failure reliability mandates, he executed mechanical design, dynamic thermal analysis, and quality assurance for mission-critical submarine platforms.

Campus Infrastructure & District Energy Leadership

Todd is currently a Lead Facilities Engineer at Montana State University.  He has spent the last decade overseeing campus-wide mechanical infrastructure and central energy systems across MSU's primary Bozeman campus. His institutional experience includes managing and modernizing critical utility infrastructure assets, such as:

• Central Steam Power Plant Operations: Directing central steam generation, high-capacity hydronic loops, and campus-wide chiller networks.

• District Distribution Networks: Overseeing multi-mile steam and condensate distribution networks, piping retrofits, and steam-to-hot-water heat exchanger conversions.

• Low-Carbon Energy Systems: Integrating ground-source geothermal well fields, high-efficiency building automation systems (BAS), and commercial rooftop solar PV arrays across academic and research facilities.
